This morning as I staggered to work, I was remined that I still live in Bumfuck.
At the square, a man stood with a monstrously huge sign, one half of which blared "HILLARY (JEZEBEL) SUPPORTS ABORTION", the other half being an enlarged image of the standard dissected 3rd trimester foetus. Cuz we all need to see that during coffee, right?
The man had his son, who was MAYBE 9, handing out leaflets.
I had to inform the little boy, "kid, your father is wrong in the head". I didn't shout, didn't throw anything or spit or behave in any other uncivilized manner. Was that right? Was it wrong? How is it fair that this man has the right to expose unwitting people to obscenity (because really, public demands of withdrawal of my personal rights, as well as displays of corpses, is obscene) but I don't have the right to bitchslap him back to last Tuesday?
And why is that child not in school? Spring break is over. Are you home-schooling that poor innocent little child, filling his head with lies and hatred? Will he grow up thinking that dinosaurs never walked on the moon, and that Adam and Eve had navels?
At least no one was honking in support.

If he is going to put his kid on the front line of his beliefs, then he should expect people to talk to his son. Perhaps, your comment will spark his son to think maybe, just maybe his father might be wrong.
