And now for something completely different :)

I just finished reading "Twilight" (chuddup) I have read worse, but not by much. I have also read better, by far. It's certainly a book for tweens, and the writing made me want to huck a thesaurus at the author. Emo!Edward is Emo! and while I could certainly empathize with Bella's klutziness, it was too extreme. I could also sympathize with her determination that Emo!Edward was her WUN TWOO WUV because at 17, that is what you think. You KNOW that your problems are greater than anyone else's and that NO ONE could POSSIBLY understand you and THIS is the person you will be with forever.

Until they're a dick, of course.

Tell me how vampires feed with shiny non-fang-y teeth? And whence comes the sparkly? *facepalm* I haven't seen the movie, but all the Behind The Scenes and promos that I was unwillingly exposed to made me think "oh, yeah, they changed it, hooo boy", cuz Hollywood loves them a good fight scene, and the book only refrenced THE CLIMCATIC BATTLE AIIIEEE in passing. I also don't really see the bits where people are up in arms about teaching their daughters to be co-dependent willing victims of stalkers and abuse. Yeah, it's creepy that Edward was stalking her, but HELLO VAMPIRE. And Bella is the most unemotional teenager on the planet. Except when she's overwrought.

Oh, to be 17 and so young and world-weary and know-it-all again!
