International Bacon Day. You could shorten it into an acronym: IBD. But then it just sounds like a shortening for some kind of irritable bowel. And no one wants to associate bacon with that. But you know what we do want to associate bacon with? Booze!

And if you want to throw one awesome rager of a Bacon Day party, you’re going to need to add some boozey bacon drinks to your menu.

First off, you need to know how to make Bacon infused vodka if you can not find one in the store. Here’s how:

Bacon Infused Vodka

Ingredients:
1 package bacon
26 ounces vodka
2 large Mason jars
Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth and funnel

Fry bacon in a non-stick pan on low heat until nicely crisp but not charred. Pour fat from the pan into a heat-safe glass bowl. Remove bacon strips and put them on a plate that’s covered with a paper towel. Let stand for five minutes.

Pour vodka into a large mason jar. When bacon has cooled slightly, add strips into the Mason jar with the vodka. Pour bacon fat into the jar as well. Let jar stand at room temperature for four hours and stir mixture every hour. Remove the bacon strips (but not the fat)

Put the jar into the freezer overnight. The fat will solidify and rise to the top, scrape as much fat out of the jar as possible. Using a fine-mesh strainer pour vodka from one jar to a new empty mason jar. The strainer should catch lots of bacon fat and debris. Once finished, clean out the original jar used. Strain the vodka one more time into the now clean and empty Mason jar. And then you are done!

Now that you have your bacon infused vodka, here are a few awesome drinks for you to get your International Bacon Day party sauced up.

Bacon Cinnamon Roll Shot

1/2 oz. Bacon Infused Vodka
2/3 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
1/3 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps

Pour the Irish cream and bacon infused vodka into a shot glass, and top with the cinnamon schnapps. Stir gently. Enjoy! A word of caution: consume immediately as the drink may curdle over time.

Bacon Chocolate Martini

1 oz. of Bacon Infused Vodka
1 oz. Crème de Cacao
1 1/2 oz. of Chocolate Liqueur
2 oz. of half and half

Mix all the ingredients together in s shaker with ice, shake and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with bacon or chocolate covered bacon.

Bacon Bloody Mary

1½ oz. Bacon Infused Vodka in a pint glass filled with ice.
Fill glass with tomato juice
1 dash each of celery salt and ground black pepper
2-4 dashes each of Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco

Shake and pour into a salt rimmed pint glass. Garnish with a celery stalk and bacon!

Now that you have Bacon Infused Vodka, you have to have your Bacon Infused Whiskey. This Bacon Bourbon recipe can be used but instead of using Bourbon, use Whiskey.

The Bacon-Apple Shot

1/3 oz. of Infused Bacon Whiskey
1/3 oz. of Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps
1/3 oz. of Cranberry Juice
A splash of Sprite (if desired)

Pour Whiskey, sour apple pucker and cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a shot glass. Add a splash of Sprite if desired, and serve.

The Bacon Old Fashioned

2 oz. Bacon Infused Bourbon (or Whiskey)
1/4 oz. Grade B maple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Twist of orange

In mixing glass, stir 2 ounces bacon-infused bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters with ice. Strain into chilled rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with orange twist.
